Subject :  Hearing Aid Batteries, Just some more thoughts
posted by kip on Wed May 9, 2012 1:20 pm
When I first started out, with local fitters, a pack or two of batteries, were added in. Then, as time went on, I had to pay for them, out of pocket - the last time, the price was $5.00 for package of 4 batteries - that was $1.25 per battery (#`10,l.4V)
These batteries were to last approximately five days, depending on how many hours they were "on", in my CIC''s. After I realized that those batteries were only giving me 3 days' or less service - not changing any of the ways I was using my CICs -- decided to go to the Internet and see what was available. I found a company (www.localbattery.com)
that had many different brands, sizes, and prices -- all up front -- no high pressure sales pitch. I had started out with iCellTech PR70; so, decided to stay with that brand; ordered a couple of packs -- just to see if they would be meeting my needs. I was very happy with what I received; and, have been ordering from this company, since. I didn't want to be bothered with running out of batteries; so, I have always ordered about a year's supply at a time. The expiration date on the back of each package is at least two years from time of purchase. I have been buying from this company, same brand, same size HA batteries for over 12 years, now; and, have only found one battery in one battery pack of six to have given me less that at least five days of service. Not plugging this company -- just thought I would pass on information for posters/readers to go take a "look see", maybe buy a sample or two; and, then, you can take it from there. As for me, since I buy a year's supply; then, I don't have to worry about running out of batteries and/or out of pocket $$$ way off the wall to locals. Maybe others might not want to purchase this way; but, it sure has worked, fine, for me. kip
