Subject : Re: adjusting your own hearing aids posted by kip on Tue May 1, 2012 9:11 pm |
| rchicago, more than once, a question, like yours, has nearly shut down this Message Board, completely. It is my understanding that we posters/readers are here, only, to be helpful to hohers' problems. with their hearing loss ( and, maybe some added words of wisdom, along the way). IMHO, rules and regulations vary from state to state in and because of the AMA, AAA, FDA; and, probably a whole bunch of others. IMHO, seek out information within your own locality and state regulations before you go further. As for me, I really do not like to have to beg; I really do not like to have someone, anyone, to control what I hear, how I hear, what I buy to be able to hear a little better than better than nothing. And, then, the real "kicker" (for me - IMHO) - have someone program and adjust and tell me to go home and see how that sounds. I have CICs, and am allowed to adjust them, myself -- with help, if needed, from my professional group. Works fine for me -- for others, it might not. IMHO, those with hearing loss should be able to pick and choose what and how their hearing loss is to be taken care of. Too important for hohers to have to give up and go back to the "huh?" group, again. Just my 2-cents, though -- not responding, again, on this subject. Go back, in time, to this Message Board's achieves portion, to learn what has been discussed along these lines. Now, what was the reason you ask your question? I thought this subject was put to bed a long time ago, on This Message Board. I could be wrong, though. kip |
