Subject : New here, and have a question... posted by miznic on Tue Apr 10, 2012 2:07 pm |
| Hello! - I see this board has been around for a long time, and I'm kicking myself for not getting here sooner when I was in the thick of my own HOH issues... whoever thought of this has my endless thanks. :) My question: I've been pulled over twice for not clearing the way for emergency vehicles; I often cannot hear them until they are close, and oftentimes, that's too late. The police, both times, let me go with a warning as soon as they saw HAs in my ears - - - but I know this is not something that can continue, especially since I work an hour from where I live. Has anyone else had this issue? - - my HAs are Sonic Innovations aids that were given to me in 2007; I'd been able to get them through the Vocational Rehab office in FL, where I lived at the time. (I am in GA now.) My biggest problem with this is that any adjustments I would need to my HAs would cost money that I don't have, and I know the GA vocrehab office cannot help me again (apparently I was at the program limit). Not asking for a handout, really, just wanting to know if I have other options besides throwing them onto the interstate for improvements... thanks! - Nikki |
