Subject : Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Home Page posted by kip on Mon Mar 26, 2012 12:33 pm |
| Food for thought: I thought I might mention this, to provide good reading and learning materials, as to how hearing aids - considered medical devices - are regulated by The FDA. Put FDA in Google search strip; then, scroll down to Medical Devices; then add Digital Hearing Aids in the search strip - and check the information that is of interest, to you. Then, if you want to further research, you might want to look at the AMA, and AAA rolls in FDA getting envolved. I did this search, a few years ago, ending up in a MAZE, going nowhere; then, a kind person logged on; and gave me information that I didn't realize -- in that the FDA didn't consider HAs important; and that they (the FDA) was five years behind of/on just the research on what the AMA and/or the AAA had given them as to what/if the FDA would give a go ahead OK, on something. That, I don't know is still true, today; but just to know that the FDA has to approve what we HOHers are wearing, how we wear them, and the rules and regulations, every year, before we can purchase, again --- me thinks that, that control of these little things we stick in our ears, behind our ears, or sitting in our ears -- will never be in our control, never. Sad "can of worms", if you ask me. Over regulations, on top of over regulations become the rules of the day -- which become history, locked in. Another of our God Given Freedoms, now, taken away from us. kip |
