| I see your point; but, if you are thinking, in any way that the Hearing Aid Manufacturing Companies (any of them) are going to provide every brand, every style, fit to every hearing loss, and fill every personal preference of every HOH person - and, then, two companies you reference as adding self programing and self fine tuning -- and wondering why they don't meet your personal needs ---- and, consider that a hole (flaw) in company workmanship- Am I on the right track? I hope that I am. With all the kindness, I have in me -- IMHO, just give it up and move on, if you can. You and I have been long time posters to this Message Board -- your hearing loss problems much greater than mine. But, my trying to find hearing aids that worked for me to even hear just a litle bit, took eight years and $15,000.00 out of pocket before I found AH. About my history with AH -- well posted on this very Message Board, starting November 23, 2005, I think it was. My one to one via telephone, from the very start -- with, "What can we do for you, today?" Great for me and my (not as bad as your hearing loss) hearing loss and personal preferences -- AH was able to fill and fit my needs. In the ongoing times with AH, I have called them with many questions of wondering if ? or could? or why not? Good one to one relationship, always. IMHO, AH will do the best that they can do for each person's hearing loss and personal preferences, if they can. If they cannot, they will tell you so, saving you a lot of money and freeing you up to continue your search to find HAs that fit your hearing loss and fill your personal preferences. Fair enough, I should think. You must realize, whether you want to or not, that making, selling, and fitting HAs is a "for profit" business, first, of lots of people wanting and needing their part of the profit "bucket". I have found, in the time that I have been a customer of AH, they have always treated me with kindness, fairness, and good will with workable HAs to my satisfaction. I could/can ask no more of AH -- nor should I. I'm just so sorry you are still searching for hearing aids that fit your needs and personal preferences. As you and I both know, hearing loss is terrible and touches many lives and causes loss of happeness in our daily goings and comings. Someone, a while back, posted something about Costco and Hearing Planet. If you could find a good fitter that would "chair-partner" you in -- you might not need self fine tuning; and maybe something could be worked out with your hearing loss, also. And, I think you already know, to do your homework before you put any $$$ down, up front. kip |
