Subject : You Would Think -- Somthing to Ponder posted by kip on Fri Dec 3, 2010 9:15 am |
| As I was doing my own in home audiogram (with the software program and equipment provided by AH - BTW, such a nice company to do business with), I began to think about the whole hearing aid process, in general. Four words kept popping up in my thought process -- Why? and You would think...... The Why? started out with....Why is something so needed as good hearing ability, that can be attainable in this day and age, be so very hard getting the job done for the HOH person? The .....You Would Think..started out with ....You would think The System of higher beings of professionals could figure out better ways to bring the HOH people into the MIX -- for they could; we all know that, already --from both sides of the coin. It's hard for me to realize that I have been reading/posting on this Message Board for into nearly eleven years, now. Not hard to realize, though, that not much has changed in the way professionals take care of business for/with HOHers. Pretty much the same structure, same "mind set", same me first goals -- business much the same as it was ten years, ago -- and, now, more rules and regulations for the HOHers, to boot. You would think .. no wonder it is easier for a whole bunch of HOHers giving up with "no more, no more" and going back to their old routine of "Huh"?, again. For a lot of HOHers, "Huh?" is a lot cheaper and a lot less trouble than the go back and more go back appointments that were not working, anyway. How do I know this, you might ask -- for I have a HOH friend that took this route -- sad to say. Now, as for my very determined HA journey of eight years, before finding success with AH, thinking back -- those eight years of struggles with a broken System which didn't work and which to this day still is not working ---didn't/don't have to be that way, but they still are; sad, to say. The Archives of this Message Board are just full of HOHers' problems with the broken system, that if brought forward and re-posted today, would still be today's happenings. Sad. but true. Then, back to Why and You Would Think -- AH -- Why they decided to "change their direction". Then, You Would Think -- Because they saw and experinced the HOHers' side of that broken system's "coin; and, decided to change things to a better way for the HOHers coming to see what their company was all about. BTW, many perks with AH -- they provide the whole works of programming tools/equipment - no "boot-legging" needed - for their customers (the HOH, like me). Again, something important, to ponder. As a disclaimer - I have no interest in AH other than being one of their many satisfied customers (going on 6 years, now). I don't say, "Huh?", anymore, either. Nice. kip |
